Hartzell Aluminum Blade Field Repair SERVICE LETTER:
There was a recent issue regarding a field repair requirement for LPI of the blades after the dressing or repair for nick damage. This new Service Letter addresses the requirement for dye penetrant inspection in the field.
Please read the Service Letter in its entirety; but note the major change is that the penetrant inspection of the repaired area is now recommended, not mandatory.
Canadian Propeller has been working with the manufacturer, aviation associations & Transport Canada on this matter.
